As a long-time student of more human leadership I love to chat with other leadership and business thought leaders and teachers, because there’s always something new to learn that can make a difference.
Recently I was introduced to Andrea Garfield by a mutual friend, and our subsequent conversation was so interesting and valuable that I just had to get it on tape and share it with you.
Andrea is the co-founder of the aptly named Awesome Institute (www.awesomeinstitute.com). Through online courses, coaching, and workshops, the Awesome Institute explores the challenges of real-life entrepreneurship and helps their clients build a life and business they truly love.
Andrea has been building businesses and teaching entrepreneurs her whole career. Having faced serious health and personal challenges on her entrepreneurial path, she is driven to help others overcome their own.
In our conversation, we’ll discuss her life’s journey to the Awesome Institute, as well as explore some of the key elements to “getting to awesome”, and aligning a passion for business and leadership with a wonderful life.
We’ll talk about her 4 Pillars of Awesome: Self, Family, Business, and Community, and go into detail on the 5 values behind the Institute that also are a fantastic set of leadership principles:
- Communicate Courageously
- Take Responsibility
- Apply Curiosity
- Do the Work
- Live Beyond The Box
Lastly, Andrea reveals one of her favorite leadership books, and a final leadership lesson you don’t want to miss.
Join us for this great conversation, and lead well!
