Last week we launched our contest to find a song for me to sing at the opening reception of SOBCon Colorado on September 17th, and the response has been fantastic – nearly 40 songs have been nominated!
Now it’s time for YOU to pick the winner by selecting your 5 favorite songs from this list of nominees, and by simply doing so, you will be automatically qualify for a drawing to win a FREE trip to SOBCon Colorado.
Here’s what this prize package will include:
- A SOBCon registration ticket for the entire event (a $349 value)
- 2 Free nights hotel at the Renaissance Boulder Flatiron (Friday and Saturday, over $200 value)
- Up to $500 airfare
Yep, that’s over $1000 in prizes!

One of the first songs I picked was “Dancing In The Dark” – Love It ….. http://www.twitvid.com/UGSEJ – whether I win or not …. I’m going to turn off the lights and Dance In The Dark when we’re there for sure!

Oh crap. I only picked one song — Led Zepplin Black Dog. Am I disqualified? Directions say to pick five songs. Can I have a do-over?
I’m sticking with Journey or Hendrix and you should too
I chose songs based on being known by every American (at least, if not every human) in attendance, and by the presence of at least one very high, held-out, or just plain goofy part certain to wow the crowd when you nail it
Also I have no idea what SOBcon even is, but your Twitter/Blog one-two-punch lineup hooked me so I’m sure it’s something I should have known about but overlooked due to moving in different orbits under normal conditions.
I did, however, read a blog post a few days ago about the power of publicity stunts undiminished in the years since PT Barnum perfected them.
