Rick at Shards of Consciousness recently tagged me with the “High Vibes” meme, originated by OptimistLab (I love this blog’s subtitle – “A Sensible, and Somewhat Amusing, Guide to the Law of Attraction”).
It’s a request for us to list our five favorite tricks for “raising our vibe”. Since I’ve written before that “It’s all about the vibe” when it comes to the law of attraction and positivity, it is my pleasure to share some of the ways I keep that vibe machine humming:
- Music – absolutely essential for me; my iPod and me have a unbreakable bond as it provides the soundtrack to my life.
- My Wife’s Smile – I fell in love with my wife the second I saw the brightest and most beautiful smile I had ever seen. Eighteen years later it still gives me a big jolt of love and joy.
- Driving in the Mountains – I’ve tried numerous times on this blog to encapsulate the feelings I get as I drive around and through the Rocky Mountain west (here’s one example)- I’m not sure I’ve really translated it properly yet, but I’m going to keep trying
- Ice Cream – I think this post I wrote last year sums this up very well. Yum!
- Blogging (aka putting my thoughts on paper) – I never thought the opportunity to write about things I believed in, about the human condition, and about every other topic I could think of would be such a vibe inducing experience. Now I can’t imagine my life without this “fix” a few times a week.
Now, I’m supposed to tag 5 other bloggers – what I’d like to do is pick some recent discoveries that impressed me with their “vibes”:
- Three Beautiful Things – I love this concept; here’s Clare’s latest post – she is delivering 3 “high vibes” every day!
- Matt Dickman impressed me immediately with the passion he put on the page -here’s a great example.
- Jacklyn is “all about the vibe” in a big, big way, and is happy to share ways that we all can be inspired – like this post.
- I suspect one day very soon Yoga is going to going to be high on my “high vibe” list – it’s already at the top for Asia. Check out what pranayama can do for you.
- Herman Najoli is a wonderful writer and promoter of positivity – just check out the great comments he makes on my posts (thanks!). His blog is more of the same – I loved this post about comparing life to a flute.
There you have it – let’s keep those high vibes going!

Hey Terry!
Great list! Thanks for playing the High Vibes Game!
Cardin Lilly
Hi Terry, thanks for the tag! I was tagged by Alan too. I’ve shared my vibes @ http://www.JacklynKer.com/136/136
We shall emanate powerful positive vibes in this bloggersphere!
Love, Jacklyn
Thanks for joining in, Terry.
I remember ice cream! When I was a kid my mom’s homemade ice cream was one of the joys of summer. I loved and dreaded seeing that old hand-cranked ice cream maker come out.
Thanks Cardin, Jacklyn and Rick – thanks for the tag, and for the meme. I enjoyed coming up with my lists. Long may those good vibes live!
All the best to all of you.
Hey, Terry – I friggin’ love the Internet. This simple little post connected me with you, OptimistLab, and now a whole new swath of great blogs and bloggers. I swear, if I didn’t love teaching yoga as much as I do, I’d never get off this computer.
. Thanks for the tag, btw, and back atcha.
Hi Asia! Friggin’ love indeed! Hope you enjoy our little community of bloggers between your classes. BTW, I’m getting better at my downward facing dog!
All the best.
