My Favorite Mountains (and more)

by Starbucker on May 30, 2006

Spent the day in Grand Teton National Park yesterday – here’s one shot of the Tetons that my wife and I really liked (hope you do too). This is a very inspirational place.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend – whilst I did a bit of blog reading I found a couple of goodies I wanted to share.

Tom Peters got right to the crux of leadership in his 5/27 post about the Enron verdicts, and a quote from one of the jurors, an elementary school principal: “I can’t say that I don’t know what my teachers were doing in the classroom. I’m still responsible if a child gets lost” . In other words, like my old boss used to say, “a fish stinks from the head down”. So true.

Maria Palma in Customers Are Always (a great blog I just linked to on my blogroll) cited a recent book by Jack Canfield about “The Integrity Factor” that presented one of the best summations of integrity in the workplace I have seen in some time. Here it is:
1. When you always tell the truth, people trust you.
2. When you do what you say, as promised, people respect you.
3. When you make others feel special, people like you.

Can’t argue with any of that – and so simple too. Now back to the Tetons.

Hello. Just read your column on 100 Bloggers, then came over here and have really enjoyed all of it.

My husband and I visited the Tetons a few years ago, and I recall pulling to the side of the road and both of us standing in absolute awe. What a magnificent place.

Blessings,

Shirley

Thanks for the warm thoughts about my blog and posting these beautiful pictures of the mountains. Reminds me that I also need to take a vacation from blogging!
