Yesterday I became a tourist for a few minutes, visiting the Royal Gorge bridge in Canon City, Colorado. It’s the highest (over 1,000 feet) suspension bridge in the world, and we crossed it with our car (see the picture- wow). When we got to the middle of it I stepped out and took it all in – while the bridge swayed back and forth! If you are afraid of heights, this is NOT the place for you. These kind of views (and that little bit of fear) always focus me on keeping things in perspective, even in the midst of a busy business trip. Sometimes we all feel like a daredevil trying to cross a 1,000 foot gorge in high winds, and all we can do is exactly what I did – take a deep breath, block out the fear, and just press on (while not forgetting to enjoy the view).
